Nebraska vs. Akron Hmmm...the game didn't take place. Just too many lightning strikes to play the game. This was unfortunate for the players and coaches...and for me. :>)
Nebraska vs. Colorado I was impressed with how the Husker defense played. The Husker defense is good and should be excellent shortly. The offense played well too, but too many mistakes cost them the game. When you have three turnovers and a dropped pass in the end-zone chances are your going to lose. I did watch the replay of the Colorado player tweaking Martinez's ankle...I thought it was a cheap shot!
Nebraska vs. Troy It was disappointing the Huskers lost this one. Again, too many turnovers in the beginning put them in too deep of a hole to win. The secondary QB played OK, but not having Martinez as the starter greatly impacted offensive performance. The defense didn't play as well this time around but kept the offense in the game. The Huskers have a red shirt freshman kicker but a 32-33 yard field goal has too be made. Hopefully he'll get this fixed sooner rather than later. Who knows, maybe he'll be better than Alex Henry. Nebraska vs. Michigan The Huskers got beat bad. About 6 minutes into the 3rd quarter the score was 46 - 0. I felt the only good takeaway from the game was that Huskers now have an idea of what it's like to play a quality team. Hopefully the Huskers respond well next week against Purdue. Nebraska vs. Purdue This was the first game of the season the Huskers had the lead in the beginning. Unfortunately the Huskers missed 2 tackles allowing Purdue to even the score shortly there after. Once the Huskers fell behind they played from behind the rest of the game and couldn't get the win. Nebraska vs. Wisconsin ... Nebraska vs. Northwestern The Huskers were in a winning situation the entire game, and they needed one more play to seal the win but couldn't get it. The last drive of the game was most unfortunate as Northwestern went 99 yards to tie the game and force overtime. The Huskers made a mistake at the most critical time to lose in overtime. I think the Huskers will win at home against Minnesota next week. Nebraska vs. Minnesota The Huskers got their first win!! The first half the Huskers pretty much dominated Minnesota. In the second half Minnesota picked up steam to close within six but the Huskers began to dominate again. The Huskers began to force turnovers which is something the team hasn't had the ability to do for most of the season. It looked as if the game started to slow down for Adrian Martinez. Ozigbo, Morgan, Spielman, and Washington all had a great day. Nebraska vs. B-CU The Huskers got their second win!! Typically I'd think this game would be a shoe-in win, but with all the changes taking place this season I wasn't able to feel this. The Huskers needed this game to prep for Ohio State. Nebraska vs. Ohio State The Huskers fell short 31 to 35--much better than previous seasons (14-56 (2017) and (3-62 2016)). Mistakes were definitely made. Lightbourn muffed a "surprise" on-side kick giving Ohio State 2 points, and Adrian Martinez created a turnover in the red zone. That being said, the Huskers forced turnovers as well. The lead changed hands between the two teams a couple of times before the end. The win was never out of sight for the Huskers the entire game. Time to move on to Illinois. Go Big Red!! Nebraska vs. Illinois ... Nebraska vs. Michigan State ... Nebraska vs. Iowa ...
